The European Association of Research in Industrial Economics (EARIE) is a professional society gathering international academics and practitioners with an interest in the relevant field of Industrial Economics. Among the aims of this scientific association are the development of research in Industrial Economics, and the contribution to the proficiency enhancement of researchers, analysts managers and policy makers in this area of the economics science.

Since 1974, EARIE has been promoting annual conferences. After Madrid 2002, Helsinki 2003, and Berlin 2004, the 32nd EARIE Conference will be held in Porto, Portugal, from 1-4 September 2005. These annual meetings constitute a golden opportunity to hear some of the world’s leading researchers and practitioners presenting and discussing theories and findings of current significant research in industrial economics. The aim of these important events is to encourage economists from both the scientific and business communities, to gather professionally and personally and talk about common interests and problems.

The EARIE 2005 Organizing Committee is planning a challenging and stimulating series of talks, presentations and papers, covering a diverse range of topics among selected ongoing research in Industrial Economics. Participants may attend plenary sessions, where well known industrial economists present their current research topics, and a choice of parallel sessions, where a variety of Industrial Economics related themes are discussed.

The Organizing Committee cordially invites researchers in Industrial Economics to join in Porto for a scientifically challenging high-quality conference, and four days of enjoyable extra-conference activities in one of the most delightful and charming cities in Portugal.
