Background

FEP and its main research centres (CEF.UP, CEDRES, LIACC-NIAAD) conduct, coordinated by Sandra Tavares Silva, and co-sponsor a number of seminars and workshops throughout the academic year. These include:

general-interest seminar series (Seminários da FEP).

young researchers seminars (Ciclo Novos Investigadores).

area-specific seminars in:

CEF.UP Seminars (The Work-in-progress Seminar Series, coordinated by Alper Çenesiz; The Economics Seminar Series, coordinated by Mónica Dias; The Finance Seminar Series, coordinated by Cláudia Ribeiro)
Mathematics and Computing (Seminários do Grupo de Matemática e Informática, co-coordinated by Fernanda Otília Figueiredo and José Abílio Matos)
LIACC-NIAAD Seminars (Seminários do LIACC-NIAAD, coordinated by Marcos Domingues).

FEP Seminar Series provides a forum to learn from, and exchange ideas with distinguished individuals from academia, inside and outside FEP, government and industry. The seminars aim at:

present brand new research from FEP's researchers, namely those actively involved in FEP's main research centres (CEMPRE, CETE, CEDRES, LIACC) and reputed invited speekers from other national and international institutions.

assisting recent and on-going DPhil and Master students to present their work in progress and to gather useful feedback.

promote long-lasting networks and collaboration with worldwide reseachers.

Participation

The seminars are open to the general public and the entrance is free from charge. Seminars are held at FEP, normally on Wednesday/Friday early afternoon (14h00).
